We were established in 1992.
The Timonium Wild Bird Center opened in its current location in Mays Chapel in 1997, relocating from Perring Plaza to the Graul's Shopping Center. In 2021, former owner George Mattingly changed the name to The Valley Naturalist. Current owner, Don Kyne, acquired the store in September of 2023. A life long birder, Don worked at UPS in Timonium for over 20 years. He retired from Information Technology in 2016.
Don has a faithful companion, named Cody, who greets customers and escorts them as they peruse the store.
Treats are provided for customers to get better acquainted.
Don Kyne enjoys feeding around his home and is a life-long bird watcher. Don is a retired software developer, and he loves to share his passion for wild animals - especially birds - and the outdoors
with his customers and community.
